Braving torrential rain, the Macau Galaxy Entertainment Group („Galaxy‟) dragon boat team continued their winning streak in Guangxi Province, claiming more victories at the 5 th Nanning China International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament June 13 and 14.

Tight teamwork and relentless practice over the past ten months, despite weather conditions, paid off when the intrepid Galaxy oarsmen took first places in both the 12-person 250-meter Open Straight Speed Race on June 13 and 12-person 500-meter Open International Race on June 14, and claimed third places in the 800-meter and 500-meter Open International Standard Boat races on June 13 and 14 respectively.

The team‟s latest stunning performances followed Galaxy standard dragon boat team Galaxy Stars‟ spectacular championship victory on June 7 at the Macau International Invitational Standard Dragon Boat Race for the Open Category (2,000 m), Galaxy Stars staking their claim to second runner-up place in the Macau Standard Dragon Boat Race Open – Open Category (500 m) on June 1 and Galaxy small dragon boat team Galaxy Universe taking the same title in the Macau Small Dragon Boat Race Open (250 m) on May 31.

Galaxy Group Operating Officer David Banks expressed the company‟s pride in the teams, adding, “Regardless of fierce competition, the Galaxy teams still succeeded in delivering their best performance. Despite unfavorable weather condition, the Galaxy dragon boat team brought their team spirit and sportsmanship into full play. I truly thank all of them for their spectacular performance. I am confident that the Galaxy team will continue to strive for excellence in future events.”

Galaxy dragon boat team members acknowledged that the competition in this Guangxi race was very fierce as the competitors were amongst the best dragon boat teams in the world, including the United States, the Philippines and Canada.

“It was our pleasure to be able to compete with the best dragon boat teams in the world. It was a good opportunity to improve our performance. During the races, we went all out with the heart of gaining more experience and to win honor for Galaxy,” one of the members vowed.

Even though the dragon boat races for this year were over, the Galaxy team is determined to keep up the hard work, and will continue practicing to bring in even more honors for the company in future events.
