The Commencement of “GEG Youth Achievement Program” “Reach Out, Reach Beyond”

October 27, 2011 – Partnered with the Macau Management Association (“MMA”) on the “GEG Youth Achievement Program”, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) hosted an inauguration ceremony at the StarWorld Macau Ballroom this afternoon. The event was attended by dozens of registered participants, GEG Executives and officiated by Acting Director of Macau Labor Affairs Bureau, Ms. Noémia Maria Lameiras, Chief of Department of Youth of Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Ms. Un Hoi Cheng, President of MMA, Mr. Chui Sai Cheong, Council Chairman of MMA, Mr. Lau Veng Seng, GEG Vice Chairman, Mr. Francis Lui and Director of GEG, Mr. Phillip Cheng.

In the speech of Mr. Lau Veng Seng, he said, “The program aims to help the participants develop positive life values and character traits. Through the program, the participants will discover their personal strengths and gain a broader horizon which helps them to become emerging talents for Macau society.” Lau Veng Seng also thinks that the program fully demonstrates the two organizers’ determination to foster local management talents.

Mr. Phillip Cheng said, “Macau’s economy is growing rapidly in recent years and every industry is seeking qualified candidates to fill a wide range of positions. Young people should seize this great opportunity to equip themselves with different professional skill sets in order to lay a better foundation for a brighter future”. He believes that the participants of this program will be able to gain practical learning experience through a series of training that will prepare them for future career advancement.

To officially launch the program officiating guests lighted up “GEG Youth Achievement Program” boxes which symbolizes that participants will have a comprehensive development covering six different aspects upon completion of the program, including “Enhance Management Skills”, “Discover Personal Strength”, “Acquire Professional Knowledge”, “Expand Social and Business Network”, “Opportunity for Career Growth”, and “Contribute to the Community”. The guests also wished the participants a successful career and prosperous future.

Targeting local youth aged between 18 and 25, the “GEG Youth Achievement Program” will kick off from this November. With the participations of around 500 young people, the program aims to help the participants develop positive life values and guide them in establishing personal career paths. The program will also provide participants an opportunity to take the internationally accredited personality assessment to better understand their strengths and individual differences which influence their future career choices. Each participant will receive a Certificate of Recognition for the successful completion of the program and have the opportunity to participate in an Asian city study tour competition.
