GEG Celebrates Lunar New Year With Golden Dragon

January 24, 2012 – On the second day of the Lunar New Year, StarWorld Macau and Galaxy Macau™ were graced by groups of auspicious “dragons” and “lions” which marched through the two properties to bring good fortune and prosperity for the Year of Dragon.

The spectacular New Year parades featuring dragon and lion dance troupes were kicked off with a blissful eye-dotting ceremony in the early morning. On hand to officiate the event were a number of senior members including Mr. Michael Mecca, President & Chief Operating Officer of Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”), Mr. Jorge Neto Valente, Group Advisor of GEG and Mr. Gabriel Hunterton, Chief Operating Officer of StarWorld Macau. Mr. Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG, extended his New Year greetings to the team members of GEG. He wished that the New Year would bring great happiness and prosperity to everyone.

An array of festive activities is launched at Galaxy Macau and StarWorld Macau to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Embellished by glorious “Dragon” and “Peach Blossom” decorations, Galaxy Macau welcomes its guests with 8 ferocious lions and a 128-foot golden dragon decorated with 12,000 gold coins, as well as the “God of Fortune” who gives out red packets during the first five days of the New Year. Meanwhile, 8 “StarWorld Lions” and a golden dragon march through the colorfully adorned StarWorld Macau to spread festive cheer around; and red packets are also distributed among the guests as a token to extend New Year blessings.
