GEG Invited 300 Seniors for Chinese Film Festival Movie Screening

March 25, 2012 – To celebrate the 9th Macau Chinese Film Festival and to offer an opportunity for the public to participate in this major event of China’s movie industry, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) warmly invited over 300 seniors from Caritas Macau and The Women's General Association of Macau to a movie screening at UA Galaxy Cinemas last Saturday. 20 members of GEG’s volunteer team also joined the activity to extend full assistance to the visiting guests throughout their stay.

The senior guests were invited to see an award-winning movie “The Star and The Sea”, directed by Mr. Qian Kuan Li. Following the movie, Ms. Long Hang Han from Caritas Macau was pleased by the care and effort from the GEG team on the activity and transportation arrangement and said, “We had a great time seeing the movie in this magnificent cinema, thanks to the kind invitation of GEG and also their friendly and helpful volunteers.”

Sponsored by GEG, “The Star and The Sea” depicts the childhood story of a locally born musician, Mr. Xian Xinghai. This movie is a special highlight to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Macau SAR and has received a number of awards since its first release in 2009. Most of the senior guests were familiar with the classic songs written by Mr. Xian and they were specially drawn to this movie themed by him.

Equally delighted to be invited by GEG, Ms. Leong Kam Ho from Caritas Macau who joined the seniors in the movie screening added, “These elderly people seldom go movie-seeing and they were very happy to be invited to this new cinema for today’s movie screening. Everybody has a smiling face and I believe they really enjoyed the movie.” She hoped that similar activities would be organized more often as they could certainly help to enrich the lives of the elderly.
