China Women’s National Volleyball Team Arrives at Galaxy Hotel for “FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix™ Macau 2014 Presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group”

August 11, 2014 - The premier women’s volleyball tournament, the “FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix™ Macau 2014 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group” will take place from 15th to 17th of August this year. Led by the head coach Lang Ping, the China women’s national volleyball team arrived at the event’s official hotel, Galaxy Hotel™, on Monday. Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) specially arranged a warm welcome reception for the team athletes at Galaxy Macau™, offering a great opportunity for the public and hotel visitors to greet and cheer for one of the leading squads in women’s international volleyball.

The China Team arrived at Galaxy Macau at noon and immediately received a rapturous reception from supporters. The welcome ambassadors then genially presented a bundle of flowers to each athlete with the blessings and encouragement of everyone. The reception was attended by a number of senior executives including Mr. Michael Mecca, President & Chief Operating Officer of GEG, Mr. Raymond Yap, Director of International Premium and Mass Market Development, Mr. Kevin Clayton, Chief Marketing Officer of GEG and Mr. Buddy Lam, Vice President of Public Relations of GEG, who greeted the team along with the exciting hotel guests and visitors. Everyone was thrilled to see the team players at the hotel lobby and look forward to the best performance of each of them in the competitions.

To be named the official hotel for the tournament once again this year, Galaxy Hotel will continue to offer its most cordial hospitality to the visiting athletes; this includes setting up an oversized mattress for each player and providing different pillow choices on player’s preference. The hotel will also give its special attention to food preparation for the players to ensure they are given adequate nutrition to cope with the competitive games.

“FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix™ Macau 2014 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group” will be the second time for Ms. Lang Ping to participate in international sporting events held in Macau since she has took over the position again as the head coach of the China Team. During the reception Ms. Lang Ping said, “Facing solid opponents from Korea and Serbia in the Macau leg, we have to make possible training adjustment to some players as they suffered exhaustion and sustained injury after two weeks of games.”

The “FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix™ Macau 2014” will kick off this Friday. The China women’s national volleyball team will first play against Korea, then against Serbia on the second day, and finally against Japan on the last day of the tournament. During the 3-day tournament, ballot boxes will be placed at the entrance of Macau Forum for spectators to cast their votes. The player with the highest number of votes will not only take home “My Favorite Galaxy Star Player” award, but she will also be entitled to fabulous prizes sponsored by GEG with a total value of up to MOP30,000, including a two-night accommodation at Sky Villa of Banyan Tree Macau with Royal Banyan spa and complimentary dining experience. In addition, one of her lucky voters will win great prizes including a one-night stay at Galaxy Hotel and food & beverage coupons valued at MOP1,500.
