Recently, GEG extended its full support to the Zonta Club of the New Territories’ (“Zonta Club NT”) fundraising efforts by sponsoring “The Echoes of the Rainbow” Charity Premiere & A Tribute to Fondly Recognized Hong Kong Brands Charity Event. Going forward, we will continue to live out our corporate citizenship by making contributions to the development of education, sports, culture and social diversity. As everyone knows, the Central and district governments plan to develop Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau – regions that blend together and yet maintains its own individual characteristics, into an ‘one-hour economic and living sphere’. In addition, because the three regions are strongly focused on the development of its cultural industries, we, as a Chinese-owned entertainment company, will continue to support them in developing their cultural industries. Through our efforts, we hope to attract more talents into the industry and help promote multicultural development so that society as a whole, will cultivate a better appreciation for cultural propriety.”

Representing GEG in receiving an event souvenir from Professor K C Chan, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong SAR Government and a representative from Zonta Club NT, Ms. Eileen Lui, Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG said, “We admire Zonta Club NT for their long established commitment to the society. Tonight’s charity event is significant because, in addition to raising funds to help finance the club’s different social services projects for society’s underprivileged, we are pleased to present to our honorable guests “The Echoes of the Rainbow” – an internationally acclaimed film that received the Crystal Bear Award for the Best Film in the Children’s Jury “Generation Kplus” category at the 2010 Berlin Film Festival. I was deeply touched by the film as it describes in vivid detail the life in Hong Kong in the 1960s. The film has a very emotional and powerful plot, and it is with great personal hope that the cultural industry can create many more of such local characteristic productions in the future.”
