GEG Holds Handicraft Workshop For its Volunteer Team and Members of Fuhong Society of Macau

May24, 2017 – In its dedication to being a proactive and responsible part of the Macau community, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) regularly organizes volunteering activities for its team members. GEG hosted its Potted Plant Family Workshop to bring its team members and their families together with the members of the Fuhong Society of Macau at the Happy Shop of Fuhong Society of Macau at Anim’Arte Nam Van, where the participants were able to enjoy the outdoor setting with a view of Nam Van Lake.

The Happy Shop provides vocational training to the disabled members of the Fuhong Society and also sells their handmade crafts. On the day of the event, the staff of the Society briefly introduced their daily operations to the GEG team members and their families. Then the disabled tutor from the Society walked the participants through the process step by step of assembling their own potted plant. The tutor also shared tips and tricks for indoor plant care.

GEG prepared some refreshments for the event and arranged for the participants to ride pedal boats on Nam Van Lake, making for a fun-filled afternoon. Ms. Jennifer Chou, Director of the Fuhong Society of Macau, said, “Through interacting with the GEG volunteers, our members have great opportunities to improve their confidence through social interaction.”

Established in 2011, the GEG volunteer team has organized over 120 volunteering activities that have attracted over 2,500 GEG volunteers who have reached out to close to 9,000 people and contributed almost 7,500 hours in community services. “GEG is honored to support the Fuhong Society of Macau and its contribution to the community,” said Mr. Buddy Lam, Assistant Senior Vice President of Public Relations of GEG. “As a responsible corporate citizen, GEG is dedicated to building a diverse, equal and inclusive society.”

Besides this workshop, GEG invited the Society’s members to perform for the GEG annual staff event and to visit Broadway Macau™ to dine on local delicacies with China’s Olympic gold medalists. GEG was also a proud sponsor of the Society’s exhibition entitled Art for a Dream.
