Galaxy Entertainment Group made donation to help the victims of the Sichuan Earthquake

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) announces today a donation of MOP3 million to the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR (Liaison Office)to assist the victim of the Sichuan earthquake.

Mr. Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG, represents the company this afternoon to present a cheque of MOP3 million in person to Mr. Xu Ze, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office.

Mr. Lui said, “This Monday, Sichuan was shook by the worst earthquake in China for the last 30 years. Up till this moment, more than 12,000 people died in Sichuan province alone. More than 20,000 people are injured. Most of the roads, buildings and schools in the affected regions were collapsed and buried. It makes me feel heartbroken to see tens of thousands of my fellow compatriots lost their families, friends and homes.”

“Everyone in GEG has been very concerned and feels sad about the damages the earthquake brought to our people. On behalf of all staffs in GEG, I extend our sympathy to those affected by the earthquake and our deepest condolence over the deceased ones,” said Mr. Lui.

“As a Chinese, I feel so shocked and depressed to see the damages and destroys brought by the earthquakes to my fellow compatriots’ lives and properties,” Mr. Lui added. “As the impact of this disaster is huge, it needs assistance from all sectors to help the victims. GEG hopes to make a contribution to assist the victims and help them overcoming this disaster and rebuilding their lives and home.”

Mr. Lui added, “Today, I would like to donate MOP3 million to the Liaison Office on behalf of GEG. This donation also represents the regards of every staff in GEG. We are confident that our donation will be sent to the affected areas as soon as possible.”
