With the enrollment of over 400 local youth, the program will offer the participants a wide range of training courses and practical opportunities to apply their new skills.

Believing that the program would help the participants realize their potential and enhance their community awareness, Mr. Paul Tse said, “The launch event signifies further cooperation between MMA and GEG on talent training and personnel development. I am sure that the program will help nurture versatile talents with practical knowledge for Macau society.”

On behalf of GEG, Mr. Michael Mecca extended a warm welcome to the participants and encouraged them to seize this great chance to equip themselves for a brighter future. “In recent years, the Macau tourism industry has introduced many new elements to this city and has created an ever wider variety of job positions and employment opportunities. In order to continue to facilitate the city’s development, it still needs a bigger and better-trained local workforce.” He also believed that the program would offer the participants an invaluable opportunity to create a solid foundation for their future career development. The guests were later invited on stage to host a lighting ceremony, which signified that the participants would have a successful career and prosperous future after completing the program.

Targeting local youth aged between 18 and 25, the “GEG Youth Achievement Program” will officially begin in January. Through a combination of volunteer work and learning activities offered by the program, the participants will not only have better understanding about their community but will also discover their personal strengths and gain insightful knowledge for establishing future career paths. The program will also provide participants with an opportunity to complete an internationally accredited personality assessment so that they can better understand their talents and capabilities.

To motivate the participants to maximize their full potential, new awards including the “Outstanding Leadership Award”, “Most Creative Award” and “Award of Merits” will be presented at the closure of the program to acknowledge the participants who deliver outstanding performance. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a Certificate of Recognition and will be eligible to enter into a final contest to compete for an Asian City Study Tour.
