The 6th GEG Youth Achievement Program Recognizes Outstanding Members; Application Period for New Program Now Open

January 10, 2018 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) proactively supports the Macau SAR Government’s policy of attaching importance to talent cultivation and development. Since 2011, GEG has been cooperating with the Macau Management Association (“MMA”) to organize the GEG Youth Achievement Program (“YAP”), which has attracted over 2,200 participants. Today, GEG held the Award Presentation and 2018 Launching Ceremony in the 8/F Ballroom of StarWorld Hotel to recognize the outstanding performance of the members of the sixth YAP and encourage the new members to equip themselves well for future career development.

Ms. Leong Lai, Director of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau; Mr. Wu YangFan, Director for Education and Youth Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R.; Mr. Kong Vai Keong, Head of the Skills Evaluation Division of Vocational Training Department, Labour Affairs Bureau; Mr. Chui Sai Cheong, President of MMA; Mr. Tommy Lau, Council Chairman of MMA; Mr. Chan Chak Mo, Council Vice Chairman of MMA; Mr. Raymond Bao, Council Vice Chairman and Honorary Treasurer of MMA; Mr. Keegan Cheang, Council Vice Chairman of MMA; Mr. Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG; Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG; Mr. Michael Mecca, President of GEG; Ms. Eileen Lui, Group Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG, and other GEG management members attended the ceremony.

Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, said in his speech that GEG has always attached importance to the comprehensive talent development of young people, which is why the GEG YAP is organized to provide opportunities for local youth and allow them to give full play to their potential. Mr. Cheng also encouraged the members to keep up their efforts and to fully develop their talents to “Reach Out, Reach Beyond”.

Mr. Tommy Lau, Council Chairman of MMA, said that MMA and GEG share the common goal of nurturing young talent and strive their best to improve the program with new elements every year. He added that the program receives extensive support and recognition from the community and provides a sound platform for the development of young talent.

The sixth YAP engaged 428 members with a series of diversified trainings, activities and competitions, including a Career Planning and Development Workshop, an E-Marketing Promotion Workshop, a Team-Building and Leadership Camp, a Marketing Project to Promote Small and Medium Local Enterprises and a Final Competition, to fully equip participants with relevant knowledge and skills for future career development.

The seventh YAP will introduce knowledge of national policies including the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area Initiative. The program will help members improve themselves with learning and practice. All activities included in the program are free. YAP aims at helping young people to build confidence and give full play to their capabilities through diversified activities and competitions. The winning team in the Final Competition of the sixth YAP, called Sei Gor’s 3,000 Delicacies, designed a game business for Broadway MacauTM which combines culinary offerings with virtual reality and augmented reality to provide an unprecedented entertainment experience to the customer. GEG also sponsored the winning team and the winners of the Outstanding & Loyalty Award for a seven-day Asian City Study Tour in Seoul, South Korea, where the group visited Asia’s first Google Campus, the Seoul Global Startup Center and the Korea Exchange, during which they met with the experts and entrepreneurs to discuss their ideas and experiences with entrepreneurship.

GEG and MMA recognized the achievement of the outstanding YAP members by awarding prizes including the YAP Ambassador Award, the YAP Happy Moment Video Award, the Best Marketing Planner Award, the Outstanding & Loyalty Award and the award for the Final Competition.
