GEG Wins Two Awards in the Business Awards of Macau 2018

Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) was awarded two recognitions at the Business Awards of Macau 2018 ceremony. Ms. Joanna Lui, Assistant Vice President of the Lifestyle Curation Services for GEG, whose work introducing innovative hospitality, retail and entertainment projects to the market, earned her the Gold Award for Young Entrepreneur. Meanwhile, Broadway Macau™ received the Excellence Award for Environmental Performance for its energy-saving measures.

The panel of judges for the Business Awards of Macau was comprised of 30 well-known local entrepreneurs, bankers, academics and professionals. The Young Entrepreneur category aims to acknowledge the achievement of entrepreneurs under 40 years of age who have shown outstanding entrepreneurial spirit. In 2016, Ms. Lui opened the lifestyle, retail, dining and interactive space CHA BEI at Galaxy Macau™, which has received overwhelming positive response and various awards since then and has become one of the most popular destination attractions in Macau. With her creative vision driving the evolution of retail culture and customer experience, Ms. Lui has helped to develop a path of growth for GEG’s non-gaming offerings.

In her acceptance speech, Ms. Lui said, “In the past years, our homegrown CHA BEI brand has collaborated with international food and fashion design brands and tried to build a community for women and female entrepreneurs, introduce plant-based food to our local cuisine and encourage conscious living for families and make environmental initiatives. Moving forward, I will continue to explore projects that work across the food & beverage, lifestyle and entertainment space to enrich the lives of Macau residents and appeal to a broad range of tourists.”

Broadway Macau is the second GEG property to win an award for Environmental Performance, following Galaxy Macau’s win last year. The award recognizes GEG’s efforts to promote sustainable development and its commitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility. Since its opening in 2015, Broadway Macau has proactively worked to minimize the environmental impact of its operations. Broadway Macau reduced its energy consumption by 8% and was awarded the CEM Energy Saving Concept Award and the CEM Energy Savings Champion Award last year, and it was given the ISO 140001 Environmental Management System certification earlier this year. Going forward, GEG will continue to foster a green culture within its properties through various environmental measures and strengthen its efforts on environmental stewardship.
