GEG Donates Cleaning Supplies and Provides Sanitation Training at Local Schools to Help Strengthen Epidemic Prevention Awareness

June 9, 2020 – Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has been working closely with a number of social service organizations on preventing the spread of the epidemic in the local community. With the gradual easing of Macau’s epidemic situation, the Macau SAR Government announced earlier the phased resumption of classes for non-tertiary education schools. Upholding its philosophy of “what is taken from the community is to be used for the good of the community,” GEG sent specialized team members to the Premier School Affiliated to Hou Kong Middle School to carry out sanitation training for the schools’ cleaning staff and share with them skillful cleaning and epidemic prevention tips so that they can maintain a safe and hygienic learning environment upon the students’ return.

Making the best use of its vast resource and experience, recently, GEG mobilized a team of specialists from its Environmental Services Department for a visit to the Premier School Affiliated to Hou Kong Middle School to help deliver a sanitation training and donate various cleaning supplies aimed at improving the professionalism and skillset of the schools’ cleaning staffs so that they can better maintain the hygiene for classes to resume. In addition, GEG also arranged an environmentally friendly hygiene services specialist to carry out disinfection at the school to eliminate the spread of harmful viruses while remaining harmless to the environment. During the training session, the representative from GEG’s Environmental Services Department used a combination of theories and demonstrations to explain and illustrate a series of good hygiene practices such as proper cleaning procedures, hygiene knowledge, occupational health and safety measures, and the uses and efficacies of different cleaning supplies, etc.

To support epidemic control and prevention, in the past few months, GEG has implemented a number of practical measures to support the social service organizations and schools in Macau and Mainland China, including offering free sanitization services for the Macau Association for the Mentally Handicapped, the Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind of Macau’s Holy House of Mercy, the Association of Parents of People with Intellectual Disabilities of Macau, Fuhong Society of Macau, Escola Caritas de Macau, the Association of Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macao, the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office and the Richmond Fellowship of Macau, donating indoor exercise equipment to the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, and providing financial subsidies to 30 local schools and the parents of children in 20 of Macau’s non-government funded nurseries. GEG will continue to assist the local schools and social service organizations, implement practical measures and work with the community to defeat this epidemic.
