GEG launched the third “Responsible Gaming Awareness Week” under the theme of “How Much You Know About Responsible Gaming” attracting more than 1,200 team members to participate. This year’s campaign featured a series of activities including mini quiz game, word game, workshop and also invited volunteers from Associação de Juventude Voluntária de Macau (“AJVM”) to provide team members the relevant information of responsible gaming by setting up booths at the back of the house.

The five-day “Responsible Gaming Awareness Week” was held recently in an effort to extensively raise the team members’ attention of the importance of responsible gaming. Invited by GEG, AJVM volunteers set up on-spot booths at GEG’s properties including StarWorld Hotel, Galaxy Macau™, Broadway Macau™ and City Clubs to encourage team members joining interactive games which identified the potential risks of gambling and put up notices at the back of the house displaying relevant information of inappropriate gambling behavior.

To further gauge team members’ awareness and knowledge of responsible gaming, GEG also organized Responsible Gaming mini quiz game and word game for the third year which received overwhelming response with a total of 400 participants in Responsible Gaming mini quiz and more than 230 participants in the word game. Team members answered all questions correctly will enter the lucky draw to win fabulous prizes. In addition, GEG invited social workers from Sheng Kung Hui Gambling Counseling and Family Wellness Center to conduct a workshop for team members to refresh on the updated responsible gaming information, demonstrate their role in promoting responsible gaming and how to provide assistance to people in need.

Continuously working closely with government departments, academic institutions, associations and gaming concessionaires, GEG promotes responsible gaming among team members through a wide range of services such as on-site counseling, around-the-clock telephone counseling and online counseling. Pamphlets about responsible gaming and self-help kiosks were also easy to reach for team members. Since the first “Responsible Gaming Awareness Week” launched in 2013, it was well received by team members with more than 2,600 participated as of today. GEG will put emphasis to engage in responsible gaming campaign and regularly organize activities for creating a favorable working and living environment to team members.
