Galaxy Entertainment Group Basketball Team Claimed Championship for Three Consecutive Years at Macau Gaming Industry Laborers Association Basketball Tournament

July 22, 2013 - The two-time champion Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) continued to glory at the Seventh Macau Gaming Industry Laborers Association Basketball Tournament this year. With great skills and excellent teamwork, the GEG basketball team has once again dominated the court and took down its opponent 81:64 in the final competition on Friday to win the grand trophy for the third consecutive year.

Aiming to raise awareness about the importance of regular exercises, Macau Gaming Industry Laborers Association hosted the basketball tournament for the seventh year and was joined by 12 strong teams from different gaming operators. After six intense matches in the preliminary and semi-final rounds, the GEG basketball team advanced to the final last Friday to compete for the championship title.

The final was a close match but the GEG team managed to lead with a stable performance and battled down its strong rival with an 81:64 victory. The athletes were cheered by dozens of GEG team members throughout the match, who broke into rapturous applause as the team claimed victory.

To build a stronger team, the members of the GEG basketball team have increased from 17 players last year to 25 this year. Gratified to retain the championship title for the third time, the team captain Marco Wong thanked his teammates and said, “We dedicated our spare time to prepare for each match in the past few years and have developed excellent rapport and teamwork with one another. Although we felt very tired after each practice section, we truly enjoyed it.” He also thanked the GEG colleagues for their support throughout the tournament, which has become the greatest motivation for the team to surge its way forward.
