GEG Donates MOP400,000 and Pillows for Winter Warmth to Anima Macau

December 30, 2019 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) proactively supports animal rescue and protection work, as well as efforts to raise public awareness of animal welfare. GEG recently donated MOP400,000 and 200 pillows to Anima Macau. The GEG Volunteer Team also organized visits to the Anima Macau Dog Shelter, with the aim of promoting throughout the community the message of caring for animals.

Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, presented a cheque for MOP400,000 to Mr. Albano Martins, President of Anima Macau, to support the organization’s ongoing animal rescue work. Additionally, GEG donated 200 moderately worn pillows that had been used, adding another stage to the useful life of these items. This tactic was chosen as an environmentally sustainable means of providing warm and comfortable bedding for
the dogs and cats living in the shelters.

This year, GEG organized a total of three visits to the Anima Macau Dog Shelter. The GEG volunteers played with the dogs, took them for walks, and learned about the animal shelter’s daily operations and challenges. Through the visit, the GEG volunteers learned the importance of caring for abandoned pets humanely.

Anima Macau is a non-profit association founded in 2003 and is dedicated to the promotion of animal welfare. The association currently runs two animal shelters, housing more than 700 abandoned and homeless dogs and cats. At the same time, it helps to care for the dogs at the Coloane Municipal Kennel. GEG has been supporting Anima Macau since 2012, with annual donations and team member visits for eight consecutive years in the hope of promoting public awareness of respect and care for animals, as well as building a society where humans and animals can live in harmony.
