GEG Creates Business Opportunities by Organizing Technology and Environmental Talks and Business Matching Sessions for Local SMEs

December 11, 2023Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) actively assists local SMEs in enhancing their competitiveness and supports their long-term development through various initiatives. Recently, GEG held two sessions of the “GEG SME Series: Innovating for a Sustainable Tomorrow” where representatives from the international technology provider Microsoft Hong Kong and the environmental protection organization Green Future Macau were invited to hold seminars on “Technology and Innovation”, and “Green Procurement” for local SMEs and GEG suppliers to enhance their new development opportunities and business application potential in related fields. In addition, business matching sessions were also arranged after each seminar for participants’ one-on-one exchange with GEG’s procurement team on future cooperative opportunities in technology and sustainability-related products and services. The activities attracted more than 300 SME representatives to join.

The event was supported and attended by Mr. Peter Chow, Senior Vice President of Procurement and Warehousing of GEG; Mr. Benny Mu, Senior Vice President of Facilities Management of Galaxy Macau; and other management team members. At the first seminar, representatives of Microsoft Hong Kong, introduced Microsoft’s latest Generative AI and related services, as well as their business application, including how AI technology optimizes business operation management models, enhances employees’ work efficiency and quality, and lines up with Microsoft global partners to provide ready-to-market solutions for businesses to cope with emerging trends changes. Participants revealed that they’ve gained immense insights on technological innovation, digital transformation and AI trend.

Dr. Joe Chan, Vice-Chairman of Green Future, nature educator and environmentalist, were invited as speaker of the seminar held on the second day. In a fun and interactive manner, Dr. Joe Chan gave participants an overview of the global sustainable development trend and explained the country’s implementation of the “dual carbon goals”, thereby encouraging enterprises to opt for green solutions to promote sustainable development. Mr. Justin Li, Assistant Vice President of Sustainability and Technical Services of GEG, also shared with the participants GEG’s sustainable development initiatives and results, as well as the Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report, so that the participants had a better understanding of GEG’s green business philosophy and procurement criteria from multiple perspectives, and pave the way for further cooperation in the future. At the end of the seminars, GEG provided one-on-one business matching sessions as an effective communication platform for GEG suppliers and local SMEs, including those local technology enterprises certified under the Technology Company Certification Program of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macau SAR Government, so that they can further explore cooperation opportunities and jointly contribute to the development of the local economy, technology and environmental protection.
