Additionally, GEG will compile an event highlights video for replay in the back-of-house areas of its various properties to convey the core spirit of the “Two Sessions” to its workforce of over 20,000 team members.
During the sharing session, the speakers introduced the Central Government’s 2025 work report, its development tasks and economic goals from various perspectives. They also shared inspirations from the “Two Sessions” along with insights on several Macau-related topics, including support for the new SAR Government’s administration and facilitation of Macau’s moderate economic diversification; leveraging the advantages of the “One Country, Two Systems” to foster the new call to deepen international exchanges and cooperation in Hong Kong and Macau; and utilizing the “Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin” (“In-Depth Cooperation Zone”) and the Central Government’s various preferential measures as a platform for ensuring the great collaboration between Macau and Hengqin.
Mr. Vong Hin Fai said, “This year’s government work report once again emphasized the importance of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (‘GBA’), with highlighting the need to ‘boost the capacity for innovation of economically developed regions, such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta and the GBA’. The development of the GBA will continue to advance toward deeper regional integration, and it is essential for Macau to leverage its unique role by upholding the principle of ‘One Country, Two Systems’ and rooting in the position of ‘One Center, One Platform, One Base’, while boosting moderate economic diversification, proactively engaging in the development of the GBA, facilitating regulatory alignment, promoting the flow of talents, and fostering judicial cooperation. By rooting ourselves in the GBA while connecting with the world, we can generate new impetus for the high-quality development of the GBA and better integrate into the country’s overall national development strategy.”
Ms. Chan Hong said, “The role of education in supporting scientific and technological talent development was strongly emphasized in this year’s government work report. Macau’s higher education has achieved remarkable strides in modernization since its return to the motherland. The ‘One Country, Two Systems’ has marked great achievements. The integration of Macau and Hengqin presents strategic opportunities for Macau’s higher education institutions to transcend geographical barriers and deepen collaboration in the education sector. As an educator, I look forward to more in-depth cooperation between Macau and Hengqin.”
Mr. Iau Teng Pio said, “In 2025, Macau faces both opportunities and challenges, and patriotism will play a significant role in navigating them. It is vital for us to actively support the Government and promote development. When promoting patriotism and love for Macau, we should use approachable ways to educate these traditions to students, so that we can cultivate a new generation of talents that are both patriotic and intelligent.”

He said, “This year’s government work report prioritizes measures to boost consumption, particularly by incentivizing spending on culture, tourism, and sports. Therefore, Macau’s tourism industry is well positioned to seize growth opportunities. GEG will continue its commitment to fully support national development and the SAR Government’s policies, contribute to the enrichment of Macau’s offerings as a ‘World Center of Tourism and Leisure’.” Following the speakers’ sharing, an interactive and fruitful discussion was held with GEG executives, enabling the exchange of valuable insights.
