The Fourth GEG Leaders Program Graduation Ceremony Held; Over 100 Graduates of which 35% Received Promotions

August 13, 2015 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) is committed to nurturing versatile talents and providing quality training in professional and personal development for team members to reach their potential. Since 2011, 470 participants completed GEG Leaders Program. The fourth GEG Leaders Program graduation ceremony was held on Wednesday at StarWorld Hotel with around 200 team members witnessing the participants’ achievements.

Head of Employment Department of DSAL, Ms. Mang Sui Yee, Acting Functional Head of Public Relations of Human Resources Office, Mr. Andy Hoi, together with GEG Vice Chairman, Mr. Francis Lui, President & Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Michael Mecca, Group Director of Human Resources & Administration, Ms. Eileen Lui and GEG senior executives attended the graduation ceremony to celebrate this memorable moment. Mr. Francis Lui commended the participants for their hard work and dedication and said, “By completing this program, you now fully understand the evolution and meaning of GEG’s Mission, Vision, Values and core competencies. Apart from sharing a common language of being a GEG leader, you are now also viewed as role models in embedding these core competencies into our leadership practices.” In line with GEG’s on-going commitment in cultivating local talent, 130 team members completed the program last year where more than half were Macau local residents and with 46 receiving promotions. Through the program, GEG strives to elevate the quality of its team, nurture talent for management positions and ultimately, increase team members’ opportunity for upward mobility.

Ms. Lilyth Yeung, Senior Manager of Events Production department and one of the graduates who achieved outstanding results, thanked GEG for this valuable learning opportunity and said, “Not only can I apply the techniques and strategies learned from the program into my job, but also it has effectively improved my communication skills and helped me build a confident image as a leader.” Apart from the certificate presentation, bulletins and exhibition boards demonstrating the content and information of past GEG training programs were displayed in the venue to foster a deeper understanding of the training programs for participants. 

GEG Leaders Program mainly focuses on team members at the middle management level targeting Senior Managers, Assistant Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents. The program strives to assist participants in further understanding the company’s core competencies, such as achieving teamwork and striving for continuous improvement, while instilling a management culture consistent with GEG’s Mission, Vision, Values and “World Class, Asian Heart” philosophy. Through theory, workshops and case studies, the program hopes to teach leaders to fully grasp various leadership skills, encourage their teams to reach their potential and ultimately, elevate their competitiveness. The program provides participants with comprehensive training in order to become leaders in an integral part of the team and to promote further contribution in the development of the society.
