GEG Hosted “Macau Safety, Health and Environmental Sharing Forum” for Experts to Shed Lights on Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection

Nov, 30 2015Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) is committed to creating a safe and comfortable workplace that protects both the health of its team members and the environment. Working with Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (“CEM”), GEG co-hosted the “Macau Safety, Health and Environmental Sharing Forum 2015” at UA Galaxy Cinemas today. Close to 100 participants from over thirty different government departments, gaming and hospitality-related entities and educational institutes joined the forum.

Distinguished guests who attended the forum include Mr. Wong Chi Hong, Director of Labor Affairs Bureau; Ms. Lam Iok Cheong, Head of Occupational Safety and Health Department of Labor Affairs Bureau; Mr. Ho Kin Chong, Senior Technician of Occupational Safety and Health Department of Labor Affairs Bureau; Dr. Lee Kwong Sing, Advisor of Occupational Safety Courses of Macau University of Science and Technology; Mr. Coleman Tse, Director of Sales and Marketing of British Standards Institution; Mr. Edmond Sassouvi Etchri, Senior Manager of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Office of CEM; Mr. Herman Chui, Vice President of Human Resources and Administration of StarWorld and Import Labor Services; Mr. Eric Tong, Assistant Vice President of Facilities of Galaxy Macau™ and Mr. Justin Ng, Assistant Vice President of Sustainability Life Cycle Management of Facilities Management of Galaxy Macau. 

In his welcome speech, Mr. Eric Tong, Assistant Vice President of Facilities of Galaxy Macau said, “At GEG, we strive to improve our environmental performance and create a safe and healthy workplace so that our team members can realize their full potential. Thus, we are delighted to be given the opportunity to host the forum this year and to share our views with so many industry experts and professionals on how we can further cooperate to build safer and more eco-friendly workplaces in Macau.” 

Centering on the theme of “The Way Ahead for SHE in the Hospitality Industry”, representatives from the local government, hospitality industry, educational institute and certification body shared their views and experiences on the four topics of occupational health and safety, risk management, environmental protection and sustainable development. In addition, GEG took the participants for a tour of Galaxy Macau so that they can better understand the daily operations of the massive integrated resort and see how different guidelines and risk management policies can help the resort ensure that its management and operation systems are efficient, safe and up to international standards. In closing, GEG vows to continue working with Macau’s different entities in promoting environmental, occupational health and safety awareness and creating a healthy, safe and sustainable community.
