Olympic Gold Medalists Visited Broadway Macau; Embracing the Tasteful Moments with Local Food

December 14, 2015 – Bringing along the Asian sights, sounds and tastes to Macau, the opening of Broadway Macau™ in May this year became a new attraction for guests to experience and enjoy world-class entertainment and leisure facilities just at one-stop. Last Friday, seven Olympic gold medalists arrived in Macau for a three-day visit and were warmly welcomed by Macau citizens and GEG. They were then scheduled to visit Broadway Macau tasting the popular local food and watching the street performance at the Broadway Street. Wrapping up with warmth and rapturous atmosphere, the medalists enjoyed the delicious food and exuberant performance so much that they returned with joy and contentment.   

A delegation of gold medalists including gymnasts Li Ning, Yang Wei, Chen Yibing, Li Shanshan, Li Xiaoshuang; volleyball player Zhao Ruirui, Zhang Ping accompanied with Mr. Carson Ma, Head of Youth Committee of Sports and Olympic Committee of Macau, China, Mr. Ma Sio Cheong and Mr. Ho Wai Kun, Committee Members of Youth Committee of Sports and Olympic Committee of Macau, China arrived at Galaxy Macau™ and were well received by Mr. Kevin Kelly, Chief Operating Officer, Macau of GEG who greeted them with heartfelt thanks for choosing Galaxy Macau for their stay. The medalists were then escorted to the Broadway Street to stroll around the outdoor vibrant street and try on the local authentic popular food brands including the famous crab congee at Wong Kun Sio Kung; Chinese herbal tea at Wa Sang Hong; double-boiled milk at I Son, at the same time performers kept the medalists in awe with their juggling stunts and interactive tricks.

Gymnasts Yang Wei was delighted to come to Broadway Macau, he said, “This is my first time to Broadway Macau and it is so great to try the local signature dishes while watching the live performing on street. As our stay is brief, we are grateful that there are many Macau traditional food and gifts in Broadway Macau for just one-stop and you can have them all.”

The medalists were shortly recognized by passers-by and some of them even stopped and asked the medalists to take photos together and capture the memorable moment. The medalists returned to the hotel after their fascinating experience at Broadway Macau to share with their friends and families. During their stay, the medalists also visited local communities and schools to have a close interaction with citizens and students.
