GEG Organized New Year Luncheon and Sent Auspicious Blessings to Elderlies

January 28, 2016 – To usher in the Year of the Monkey, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) invited over 100 elderlies from the General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau (“UGAMM”) to enjoy a New Year luncheon at Oasis restaurant at the Galaxy Macau™ today, laying out sumptuous meals and festive entertainment. Apart from delivering New Year wishes to elderlies, GEG executives and volunteer team members played games, delivered red packets and presented festive gift packs to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year. 

Mr. Leong Heng Kao, President of UGAMM; Ms. Lao Kuai Wan and Ms. Van Vai Cheng, Advisors of the Social Service Committee of UGAMM; Ms. Chow Kam Yuk, Sub-Director of the Social Service Committee of UGAMM accompanied with the elderlies to Galaxy Macau and were warmly received by Ms. Eileen Lui, Group Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG; Mr. Trevor Martin, Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG, senior executives and volunteer team members who offered auspicious blessings to them for the new year. During the luncheon, GEG executives and volunteer team members played interactive games with the elderlies who laughed cheerfully for a pleasant afternoon. One of the volunteers dressed as the God of Wealth to entertain the elderlies by distributing red packets and festive gift packs containing Chinese New Year pudding, food and hand-knitted scarves made by GEG volunteers. Other volunteers sang and danced energetically to impress the elderlies and guests while a lucky draw was held towards the end of the luncheon, brightening up the day with fun and compassion.

“I am so happy to have my buddies gathering here today,” said one of the guests, Ms. Fu Sheng Heong “Thanks to GEG, I have had a wonderful day and will definitely share this happiness with my family when I go home.” The GEG volunteer team carefully selected dishes for the luncheon that were suitable for the taste of the elderlies, who praised them as healthy and festive.

The volunteer team members were grateful to participate in this meaningful event to spread festivity and joy to elderlies of the community and enthusiastically anticipate an upcoming charitable activity to bring them all closer together. As part of its commitment to giving back to the community, GEG will continue to engage in a variety of philanthropic services to build up a better community in Macau.
