GEG Organized “Easter Bunny Basket Workshop” and Donated to Benefit the Disadvantaged in Macau

March 22, 2016 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) provides its team members with opportunities to volunteer in local communities. In celebration of Easter, GEG volunteers organized the “Easter Bunny Basket Workshop” at the Hil Kong Center of the Association of Parents of the People with Intellectual Disabilities of Macau, and GEG donated MOP100,000 to the association.

Fifteen GEG volunteer team members arrived at the center this afternoon. Mr. Michael Mecca, President of GEG, on behalf of GEG, presented the MOP100,000 donation to Ms. Lou Sio Ha, Director of the Executive Board of the Association, who said, “GEG has been proactive in caring for local communities and frequently organizing events that provide the Hil Kong Center’s service users the opportunity to realize their creative potential. This donation will help us to improve our facilities and will subsidize the expenses of our daily operations.”

Staff of the center led GEG volunteers to a classroom where they were greeted by the center’s services users. The volunteers and service users worked side by side to create adorable Easter bunny baskets with assorted colorful papers, white cotton puffs, and drawings. The volunteers filled the baskets with candies and treats. At the end of the event, the volunteers said goodbye and wished the service users a happy Easter.

“At first, I thought I was here to bring joy to the service users, but it turned out that they are the ones to bring happiness to me,” said one of the GEG volunteers, Ms. Zhou Shun Ying from Food and Beverage Stewarding Department “These kindred spirits inspire me to carry on participating in charitable services in order to make a difference in their lives and my own.” In its endeavor to serve the community as a responsible corporate citizen, GEG will continue encouraging team members to reach out to the disadvantaged through charitable activities in Macau.
