May 21, 2018– FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League – Macao 2018 Presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”), authorized by the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (“FIVB”), and organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Volleyball Association of Macao, China, will be held from May 22 to May 24 at the Macao Forum. The four participating teams—China, Serbia, Poland and Thailand—will strive for the best results in the Macau leg. China Women’s National Volleyball Team, highly admired by local fans, participated in a volleyball clinic today, interacting with junior players from Macau, and students from Escola Caritas de Macau (“Caritas”) at an invitation of the volunteer team from GEG, the presenting sponsor of the tournament.

Several Chinese players—namely, wing spikers Duan Fang and Zhang Yichan, middle blocker Hu Mingyuan, and libero Wang Mengjie—arrived to the Macao Forum for the attendance of the clinic this morning. Besides sharing insights and tips with the Macau junior players, the Chinese players also had a mixed friendly match with them. About a dozen of GEG volunteer team members and students from Caritas also played volleyball with the players and reveled in the funs of the sport in an excitement-filled atmosphere. Giving the Caritas students a taste of the elation and tensions of professional matches, GEG has particularly invited them to watch the matches at the Macao Forum. After the clinic, Wang Mengjie remarked: “I think I can undertake different types of training at different positions in hopes of enhancing my skill level.” The Chinese National Team will attend a press conference at the Grand Ballroom of The Ritz-Carlton, Macau this afternoon, in which Lang Ping, Head Coach of China, and Captain Liu Xiaotong will brief the media about their preparation for the upcoming matches.

Advocating volleyball and encouraging community involvement, GEG will organize “My Favorite Galaxy Star Player and Team” award during the tournament. Besides casting ballots for their favorite players, the public can vote for their favorite team for the first time this year and have chances to win amazing prizes. 

Livening up the atmosphere, GEG will set up a face painting booth and “GEG Selfie Station” at the Macao Forum during the tournament, as well as inviting Macau key opinion leaders to engage and interact with the public. Fans can also cast ballots for their favorite players and teams at the boxes dispatched inside the venue, and have chances to win fabulous prizes, including one-night accommodation at Galaxy Hotel™ Deluxe Room, food and beverage vouchers with a face value of MOP1,000, and movie tickets for Director’s Club at UA Galaxy Cinemas.
