December 7, 2019 -With this year marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau SAR, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has launched an array of events in collaboration with various stakeholders in the community. Amid the visit of Olympic Gold Medalists to Macau, GEG invited gymnast’s Tong Fei, Li Xiao Shuang and Yang Wei; divers Qin Kai and He Zi; sport shooter Guo Wen Jun; and badminton player Zhao Yun Lei to share their experiences with nearly 300 students of the University of Macau’s Lui Che Woo College (“LCWC”). The event was part of the “Olympic Gold Medalists Visit Macau Series Activities - Energetic Visit 2019”.

The seven gold medalists arrived at LCWC this morning and were warmly received by Mr. Song Yong Hua, Rector of the University of Macau, and Mr. Yip Ming Chuen, College Master of LCWC, together with the students. During the sharing session, the medalists talked about how they had prepared for the Olympic Games in terms of mental preparation and physical training, and they encouraged the students to be engaged in sports for better health and positive and forward-looking life values. The group then toured the public facilities of LCWC escorted by Judiciary Police Junior Anti-Crime Pioneers, and members of the PSP Junior Group and Macao Customs Junior leadership program. After, the medalists autographed LCWC uniforms.

Mr. Buddy Lam, Senior Vice President of Public Relations of GEG, remarked, “The perseverance, relentless efforts and sportsmanship of the athletes are what we should learn from. Through this event, GEG allows the youth to listen the national Olympic gold medalists sharing in person, who have achieved remarkable results in the sports field after years of hard work. The encouragement from the athletes could enlighten and inspire the youth, helping them foster a positive mindset.”

This year, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau SAR, GEG has launched an array of events in collaboration with various stakeholders in the community. Many of these events feature activities for young people, including the GEG Macau Cup - Youth National Education Competition and the GEG Youth Achievement Program, both of which highlight the Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macau Greater Bay Area development plan and the MSAR 20th Anniversary Handover. Additionally, a highlight video of the Drone Light Show from the GEG Celebrates the MSAR 20th Anniversary with You event was also broadcast at the sharing session. The Drone Light Show, which was held at the Grand Resort Deck at Galaxy Macau™, featured 300 aerial drones forming the words “GEG Celebrates the 20th Anniversary of Handover” and the silhouettes of a runner from the starting line set position to victoriously crossing the finish line.
