GEG Celebrates Chinese New Year with the Community Through Diversified Activities

February 7, 2024With the approach of the Year of Dragon, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has extended its love and care to various community groups through diversified activities, including inviting members from various local organizations to participate in the Dancing Dragon DIY Workshop at Galaxy Macau™, local youth startups and social service organizations to join the Galaxy Macau Chinese New Year Bazaar, and mobilizing the GEG Volunteer Team to join the “Winter Warmth 2024” event organized by the United General Association of Macao Community Volunteers and to pay caring visits to the homes of the elderly, sharing warmth and love with the community while welcoming the New Year.

Recently, GEG hosted two dedicated sessions of the Dancing Dragon DIY Workshop at the Galaxy Kidz Edutainment Center. Approximately 50 participants, including seniors from Our Lady of Mercy Home for the Elderly, members of the Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind, which are both from the Macao Holy House of Mercy; and members of the Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired, experienced creating auspicious and creative dancing dragon pieces in a heart-warming and lively atmosphere under the guidance of the GEG Volunteer Team. During the session with the Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind, members of the GEG Volunteer Team even learned basic sign language from the association's sign language interpreters to interact with the participants and extend Chinese New Year blessings. Apart from joining the workshops, participants also explored the festive decorations and Chinese New Year Bazaar at the integrated resort.

The Chinese New Year Bazaar at Galaxy Macau featured over 30 local SMEs and social service organizations. Collaborating with the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre, GEG invited three local start-ups, together with three social service organizations, to participate as “GEG Invited” participants. These participants offered a variety of festive products, including “Made in Macao” items, special souvenirs, and festive potted plants. GEG volunteers were also present to assist the operation of the social service organization booths, further promoting the spirit of inclusion.

Furthermore, GEG actively responded to the “Winter Warmth 2024” event organized by the United General Association of Macao Community Volunteers by sending volunteers to visit the homes of elderly users of the General Union of Neighbourhood Association of Macau’s Peng On Tung Tele-Assistance Service of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, to distribute festive gifts and convey heartfelt Chinese New Year blessings. Moving forward, GEG will remain committed to spreading love and care into the community and building a harmonious and inclusive community.
